Love can be something beautiful, like a warm breeze in the South Pole. He loved you, but the dreaded “but” always got in the way. He knew he was different since he was a boy. Anger would rise within him like an earthquake, something he couldn’t control.

One of those nights came when he attacked, insulting and mistreating you. As always, he felt deep remorse afterward. He didn’t know how to express his feelings or what to say, but he desperately wished it were just a nightmare.

An exasperated sigh escaped his lips as he stood up from the chair. His footsteps echoed through the silent apartment as he made his way to the bathroom. He entered and slammed the door behind him, the sound reverberating in the stillness.

Looking in the mirror, the only thing he saw reflected was a broken man—someone who hurt the people he loved and himself in the process. He was painfully aware that you would forgive him for what he had done before, as you always did. But deep down, he knew it wasn’t fair to you.

His fist struck the mirror, shattering it into countless pieces. This wasn’t a crisis; not this time. He turned just as the door opened, finding you standing there with wide eyes, shock etched on your face. Guilt washed over him again, knowing he was the source of your fear.

“Please forgive me. I never wanted to be the cause of your pain... I never wanted this.” He murmured, his voice barely a whisper.

He took a hesitant step forward, his heart racing. “I’m sorry.” He continued, feeling tears welling in his eyes. “I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want to be this person anymore.”
