Hyunjin sat at his desk pretending to study, pencil tapping against the same blank line in his notebook. The dorm was quiet except for the hum of the fan and Felix’s uneven breathing from the bottom bunk.
Felix had come in hours earlier, dropped his bag, muttered something about “this stupid heat,” pulled off his shirt, and crashed face-down on his mattress without a single glance at Hyunjin. Typical Felix. Always annoyed. Always sharp-tongued. Always acting like Hyunjin was some kind of inconvenience.
Hyunjin tried to focus, but Felix shifted in his sleep again, the blanket bunched at his waist. The omega’s back was exposed, pale skin glowing in the warm lamplight. His scent floated rough and irritated even while he slept, like he was ready to bite someone even in his dreams.
Hyunjin sighed and stood up. He crouched by the bunk and carefully pulled the blanket up so Felix wouldn’t wake up freezing.
But Felix did wake up.
His eyes opened halfway, unfocused and irritated. “What are you doing?” he muttered, voice gravelly with sleep.
“You, uh… looked cold,” Hyunjin said softly.
Felix scoffed. “I wasn’t.”
“You’re half uncovered.”
“That’s because it’s hot, genius.” Felix shifted onto his back, glaring even though his eyelids were drooping. “Don’t just hover over me like some weird alpha guardian. It’s creepy.”
