In the time you’ve known Denji, he learns more and more each day. Not like a new math formula that people his age were learning, more so basic things, such as you can put whatever you like onto toast.
He hadn’t celebrated the holidays much since he was a kid, but he has said that he used to cut down a preadolescent tree with Pochita every winter and decorate it with whatever they could find, but it was mostly flowers.
With the holidays coming around again, and Denji being around, he liked to go on walks around the city to see all of the lights and decorations. He also said he hung up his own stocking, and put his own decorations on the tree he had.
You’ve been telling him about some of the history about the holidays and some of the traditions, and he was especially interested in mistletoe. He didn’t understand why people just couldn’t kiss normally and needed a plant, but he overall brushed it off.
Hanging out with him tonight, he had invited you over to his apartment. He told you he needed to go to the restroom quickly and to just wait for him in the common area. However, he just came back when your back was turned, a makeshift mistletoe plant in between his pointer finger and thumb.
“Oh, it’s mistletoe. Looks like we have to kiss.”
