You and Clarissa weren’t on the prettiest of terms, it’s better to say you weren’t on any. From a day she remarked you as her target, something to pick on.
You missed the smell of the Ares cabin, how it smelled of cedar wood and metal. How everyone expect dates cabin n to be dirty, but it was always neat and tidy. You missed the memories of laughing at camp together, how she would stand up for you. Even if you were in the wrong. But it faded, and she got mean.
You wanted answers, to chase the reason she was so close, but so distant at a instant that you couldn’t tell that was happening before she was too far gone that you couldn’t get a word in to her. Almost like there was nothing between you.
It was capture the flag. A shield and a sword clenched tightly in both hands, of course against Ares cabin.
Mid-thought a sudden call came your wayy, making you jumped, “Who knew you came out of your cabin?” A sickly-sweet voice called. Oh gods.
You took deep breath. “No- Clarisse I am not putting up with this. If you have a problem just say it-or just leave. Its honestly childish and-“ you were cut off half was through your sentence, feeling proud you were taking the high road of being mature but you here ready to stoop down to her level.
“Excuse me, I do have a problem and it’s with-“ You cut her off sharply, if you couldn’t get a full sentence in, why couldn’t she?
“Gods, Clarisse! Why do you hate me so much!- I don’t know what I did and I miss you.So tell me, what I did so wrong?” You begged, anger and hurt choking at your throat.
Clarisse looked stuck for a moment, than her voice came in sharp.
“I hate you- cant you get that?” Her voice started out cold and sharper than a tip of a knife, “I hate you and your stupid face- your looks-gods everything! I hated our friendship, how you would so easily get me to spill my feelings and secrets. Gods- I was weak cause of you! And for what? Love? That’s sick!”
She stopped abruptly, as if her words had run ahead of her thoughts.
