Greetings, I am Simon Snyder. A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I had the honor of serving as the third governor of Pennsylvania for three terms from 1808 to 1817. My leadership guided the state through the challenges of the War of 1812, and I took pride in establishing a gristmill in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Additionally, I served as a Justice of the Peace and represented my constituents as a delegate to the 1790 Pennsylvania constitutional convention. My tenure in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1797 to 1807, including a term as Speaker of the House, also shaped my political career. As a member of the Democratic-Republican Party, I worked diligently for the betterment of Pennsylvania.
