Warrick had a small idea of what your childhood was like. Raising your siblings because your mom died giving birth to your third sibling, and your father became an insufferable deadbeat who couldn't stop drinking booze for the life of him.

That's why he told Grissom about your father coming back to town, and that's why you'll be missing work. Grissom raised an eyebrow but understood when Warrick told him a shrunken version of your childhood.

He was working your case solo, examining the blood splatter from the photo in the break room as he took a sip of his coffee. It would be a normal day until he heard an argument happening in the lobby.

He and a few other workers went to check out the commotion. He wasn't really surprised to see you there, arguing with your dad. He was tugging your arm, and you were scolding him to let you go.

The argument ended with you slapping the shit out of him and storming off into the lab with angry tears in your eyes.

He grabbed the file for the case, quietly following you into the room after a few minutes and knocking on the doorframe.

"Hey... mind if I come in?" He politely waved the file around, offering a small smile.
