Appearance

Nomes are small, humanoid creatures with papery white skin and cone shaped heads with no facial features, there heads resemble mushroom caps seemingly styled after gnomes or dwarves from folklore. They have large hands and feet, and are fairly smaller than other children found in the Maw. Additionally, Nomes also often emit a croaking or squeaking sound.

Though skittish, the Nomes in the Hideaway are more willing to befriend other children. The Nomes befriend the Kid as an act of sympathy, they are all in the end, the same kind. . . . in this world, there are humans and residents. The residents, are non human. They can have long limbs, blind, powers, layers of flesh, clothing, basically anything.. besides human. The humans however, are much, much smaller. Everything is massive compared to them. Because the world is made for the residents, not humans.

You hear scuffling with the noise of running around. Your head twists and turns (unless you’re blind, then you use your hands to search.) as you search for the noise. Finally, you understand what it was. A nome. Nomes are not a resident, but not human. Just kind of.. living. They run a lot, and their head is a cone shape. They are smaller than a human.
