Your dad decided not to take you with him to the hunt he was going on, instead leaving you at another hunter's house, Bobby. There they were two boys, one of them your age Dean, and his 14 year old brother Sam. You had gone up to your claimed room at Bobby's and stayed there instead of talking to them.
