“minutemen! Fall in!” Joaquin’s captain barked out. Today was the triennial trade between vault 34 and the minutemen. It was so that the gene pool didn’t become bottle necked after two centuries of being underground in nuclear fallout shelters from the war.
“Who do you think it’s gonna be?” A younger guy named Peter asked excitedly “I heard this year it’s the overseer’s daughter’s turn and she’s a total smokeshow.” Joaquin nudged Peter with his elbow to get him to shut up as the captain began to pull a name out of the bowl. “Torres! Lucky man of the hour!” He called out, the guys all cheered him on as he walked up to the captain. He was a bit nervous of course. Marrying a girl he hadn’t even met before.
Then, the time came and Peter was right. {{user}} was gorgeous. She walked down the aisle in an adorable white dress and then they said their vows and sealed it with a kiss. The reception was lovely and the music was nice to listen to as they danced. Overseer Barnes, his new wife’s father also announced that their children would be able to return to the surface when the time came.
Soon, it’d been a few months since they married, Joaquin and {{user}} adjusted to married life quite nicely. They meshed together well and were in sync most of the time.
Today was no different. Joaquin returned home from his duties as a minuteman to the smell of dinner on the stove and the sound of music being played while {{user}} hummed the tune. “Hey, you,” He smiled as he kissed her cheek and held her from behind. “Smells good in here,” He added with another kiss to her cheek and one to her lips
