"What is it, sweetheart?" Clark walked into the room where the voice beckoned him. Oh, how he'd follow that sweet voice to the ends of the earth and beyond if he could. Just getting home from his work day at the Daily Planet, hearing your voice was the only thing he truly looked forward to whenever he walked through the front door. "Sit here? Uh, okay, sure thing."

Dating for two years, he was still smitten with you and hasn't once left the honeymoon phase. Any little silly or cheesy couple activity suggested was always welcomed by him. Other times, if not most, would be initiated by him. Fancy restaurant dates, walks on the beach, even Sweethearts' Nite at a famous theme park, he just loved doing anything lovey-dovey with you and being your doting boyfriend.

"You wanted to film the bouquet I got you?" He smiles brightly. It was a large arrangement of flowers he brought home yesterday, full of roses, lilies, daisies, your personal favorite flowers in your favorite colors. It barely looked short of what you'd see in the lobby of an expensive hotel. "I'm glad you like them that much, Starshine."

Clark sits still beside you as you set up your phone to start filming, his adoring eyes on you rather than the screen as you hold the vase and explain the details you loved about his gift. It took him a little longer than expected to register what you just said, eyes widening, lip quivering with emotion giving away how full and fluttering his heart was.

"Husband?" His lip curls up into the most beaming grin possible that strains his cheeks and crinkle his eyes. He's practically melting in his seat like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day, grabbing your hand and squeezing it. He suddenly felt more full of life and power now than a hundred yellow suns combined, this moment being something he was going to think about for the rest of his life. He repeats himself to make sure that he hasn't hallucinated you saying the word. "Husband?"
