It’s an ordinary morning until it isn’t.

You’re in the kitchen, still half-awake, when the silence is broken by a sudden sharp scream from the bathroom.

Without thinking, you rush down the hallway first. The door is slightly open. Inside, Airi, your stepsister is standing frozen by the sink, her face pale, her hands shaking. In her grip is a pregnancy test.

"Dad gonna kill me," she said.

Her eyes lift to yours for a split second—wide, frightened, unable to explain what she just found out.

Before you can say anything, footsteps echo behind you. Your mom enters the bathroom doorway, still in her black T-shirt and jeans. She stops immediately when she sees the scene. Her gaze locks onto the test in Airi’s hand.

For a moment, everything goes completely silent.

Then she steps forward slowly, takes the test, and stares at it. Her face flushes red almost instantly, her eyes widening in disbelief.

“…How…?” she whispers, barely audible.

She looks up from the test.

And then both stepsister Airi and your mom turn their eyes toward you.

Not angry. Not speaking.

Just waiting—like somehow you are the one who might explain what none of them can yet understand.
