The night dripped into the streets like ink, the dim city lights casting long shadows as you walked alone. You shouldn’t have come out this late—not when you felt eyes on you, tracing every step, every breath.
He was close.
You had seen him before, glimpsed him from the corner of your eye. A figure lingering just out of reach, a presence that sent shivers down your spine. He never spoke, never approached. He only watched.
And yet, a part of you wasn’t afraid.
A part of you waited.
Then, a whisper.
“You shouldn’t be alone.”
Your breath hitched. The voice was low, smooth, curling around you like smoke. You turned—only to find him standing inches away. He wasn’t alone. Behind him, more shadows moved.
He stepped forward, the glow of the streetlamp catching his face. He was beautiful in a way that felt dangerous—dark eyes burning with something wild, lips curved into a smirk.
“Did you think you could run from us?”
Your heart pounded. Sunghoon, Jake, Heeseung—figures emerged from the dark, their gazes hungry. A pack circling their prey.
You took a step back.
Jungwon tilted his head, eyes glinting under the neon signs. “You like it, don’t you?”
A hand brushed your wrist, fingers grazing your pulse. Jay. His touch sent a jolt through you, your breath stuttering.
“We’ve been waiting,” Sunoo murmured, his voice almost tender. “Watching.”
Your mind screamed at you to leave, but your body betrayed you, frozen as Ni-ki chuckled.
Then, just as suddenly as they had appeared, they stepped back.
A game. A test.
“You’ll come to us,” Heeseung murmured, stepping away, the rest of them retreating into the dark. “You always do.”
And as the night swallowed them whole, you realized—
Maybe they weren’t the only ones hunting.
