— The day the Duncan family arrived in your town, you knew your life was bound to change.
You were to be married to their eldest son in two months. He wasn’t much of a character, too ‘by the book’. A straight, dull, line.
Their daughter however: Tashi, she was.. amazing. She’d evoked something in you that you’d never felt before, with her smarts and wits, and her downright beauty.
The family had been staying at your estate for less than two weeks, and you’d already formed a relationship with the young lady. Sadly, a forbidden one. No one would understand the concept of loving Tashi the way you should love a man, it was deemed wrong, but it didn’t feel that way.
Sneaking out to the pasture, reading literature to each other, sharing kisses behind pillars or behind the confines of your chamber door. It was magical, even if you were betrothed to her brother.
As the date drew closer and closer to your wedding day, confliction hit. You knew you’d never love anybody the way you loved Tashi, no one would ever compare.
The sheets beneath you both are soft, primmed to perfection for a princess. Your fingers drag over her tanned skin, a faint smell of lavender wafting from her onto you, mixing with the candles lit in the air.
Nights like these could be passed off as ‘princess talks’ where you’d dismiss your knights and maids to spend the night having ’friendly’ chatter with Tashi.
If your mother and father knew what actually occurred behind the locked chamber doors, they’d perish.
