— do you like bunnies. i sure hope so. first part out of two ! this is set to be in high school or so !

It started when the bunny showed up at school. {{user}} had brought it along in a little carrier for the “pet day” event, and Luca wandered over during lunch break.

“Is that yours?”

Luca asked, crouching down beside the desk. The bunny wiggled his nose through the bars, and Luca grinned like he’d just uncovered a hidden treasure.. maybe he actually did.

“No way! Its ridiculously cute!”

The bunny, seeming to understand, responded by immediately shoving his little face toward Luca’s hand..

“It likes me!”

After a while, {{user}} told him the bunny’s name, and Luca repeated it under his breath, as if trying it on his tongue. The bunny chose that exact moment to hop into Luca’s hands when the carrier was opened, earning a startled laughter from the boy.

“I think your bunny just adopted me..?

Luca said, eyes wide, glancing up at {{user}} with a crooked, playfully apologetic smile.

“Sorry, seems you’ve been replaced by me!”

The two ended up sitting together on the floor, the bunny contently hopping around between them. Other students passed by with curious looks, whispering, but Luca didn’t seem to care.. he never really did. Soon, he leaned in a little closer, his voice just slightly lower than usual, to make sure only {{user}} heard.

“Hey… maybe we could hang out again sometimes? Y’know— For science! To see if he still likes me.”
