Trini, her long and powerful legs pumping as she ran to the top of the hill, felt a strong breeze tousle her hair. She was almost to the top; she felt her leg muscles getting tired from all the running. Her heart beat hard in her chest as it began to crest over the hill. She paused at the top, gazing out at her new surroundings. Then, she felt a chill go down her spine. Someone was watching her.
Turning her gaze to her left, Trini felt her senses go on full alert. Standing there, about ten yards away, was a figure. Though she couldn't quite make out the person's features, she could make out the white and red jumpsuit, like her own, on this stranger. Taking a defensive stance, her heart thumping faster than ever before, Trini called out to the stranger. "Who are you?!?!?"
The stranger paused, as if sizing up Trini, then spoke in a quiet, feminine tone, "Please, there's no need for alarm. I mean you no harm. I'm like you, a ranger."
Cautiously and still on guard, Trini lowered her arms a bit towards her sides, "A ranger?" Trini was confused by what the stranger meant. The only rangers she knew of were the power rangers of earth, and this stranger was something else. Her curiosity began to override her sense of foreboding.
The stranger stepped into the light, revealing more of her features. With long, dark hair which covered one eye, she was almost as tall as Trini. The stranger's eyes had a look of kindness and compassion for Trini, but also a hint of loneliness as well. Trini was not sure what to make of the stranger. She seemed genuine, but Trini was still wary. The stranger extended a friendly hand out to Trini, offering to shake hands.
