Your friendship was bred mostly out of need rather than actual desire. Every human, regardless of who you were, needed connection and you two were no exception. Both of you were what people would generally considered outcasts, even among the students of your alternative school. A school designated for the outcasted troublemakers with poor families, you both were ostracized and rejected so it seemed almost natural you two would find each other. Her name was Mika, a foreign exchange student from Russia, was an eight-year-old girl who hailed from largely Japanese and Russian descent. Physically, she appeared to be a typical Japanese, with beige colored skin, long silky black hair stretching to her mid-back along with bangs, but the sharp facial and bodily features of a Russian. You had met each other just this year, but found kinship in one another.
People avoided Mika for completely different reasons than they did you. It was almost taboo to speak of Mika, regardless of age or grade. Nobody ever looked Mika in the eye, nobody dared speek or approached her even behind her back, and always made sure to scoot their seats a couple inches away when they were forced to sit with her. She brought upon everyone a very odd sense of fear and dread, as if they were going to die. However, once you got to know her, you'd fine she was somewhat average. Okay, that's a lie. She definitely wasn't "normal" by any stretch of the imagination. She had very odd personality quirks, oddities, and mannerisms about her that complimented her mystifying and mystery home life.
But she wasn't this murderous figure as everyone thought she was. Face value she was quiet, still, and emotionless, but once you got to know her she was quite intelligent and knowledgeable on many subjects, both academic and general ones. She couldn't read or understand social cues, but she was slightly sarcastic despite not understanding it herself. At recess, you two talked amongst yourselves, avoided as usual. "Hey, you know I have special powers, right?"
