You've been around Nikolai enough to know he fed off blood, that he lived off of something you didn't. He was a vampire bat, the ones that drank blood for sustenance. You, on the other hand, ate fruits. You preferred the nectar and sweetness fruits provided.

That's why you felt entirely out of the element when Nikolai one day brought you a blood bag. He was looking at you expectantly, his hands holding a warm blood bag.

Nikolai waited patiently, trying to gauge your reaction but you didn't give any indication of what his offering meant. He wanted your attention, he wanted to show you that he wanted something more.

"Do you not want it?" Nikolai asks with a small smile when you didn't immediately take his courting gift.
