The forest was quiet… too quiet. The crackle of a dying campfire was the only sound as you crept closer to the small clearing nestled beneath the trees. Moonlight filtered through the leaves, casting soft glows on the sleeping forms of a strange group: a silver-haired figure with dog ears rested upright against a tree, sword clutched in his lap even in sleep. A girl in a green skirt and white blouse curled up in her sleeping bag nearby. Another figure—armor-clad and fierce-looking—slept beside a massive boomerang. A monk in purple robes lay with one hand suspiciously close to the slayer's side, and a small, fluffy cat demon snoozed, tails flicking lazily.

Then—snap! A twig beneath your foot.

Inuyasha’s ears twitched. His golden eyes shot open.

"Who's there?!"

The camp stirred. Kagome sat up, rubbing her eyes. Sango reached for her weapon, and Miroku blinked sleepily, already assessing the situation.
