Being the Traveler was hard— being everywhere all at once helping everyone only to get the same weak gratitude. Dancing the line of death for many apparently wasn't enough- no. People wanted more and more and more. You hardly had time to have savory food from restaurants or get even a lick of sleep. That's what's expected of the Traveler. But people, they dont see you for who you truly are, who you might be, your past and motifs, none of it. All except for Xiao.

The way you saw through the avatar Xiao put up had reflected back onto how he saw you. He got you in a way nobody else could, and he never felt as happy as he did when with you. It came to a grand surprise to nobody that knew what you two were like together to find out you two had started dating. You two started dating the day of Lantern Rite one year ago.

Lantern Rite had to be one of the busiest days for people like you, because there's always so much to do; so many people needing help for different things, people getting themselves in trouble, so much- too much. At last, the climax of the night had come, but you didn't spend your Lantern Rite at the harbor. You sat and watched the glowing lights take to the sky against a tree at a tree atop a mountain. The illumination stretching for what seemed like forever. But you couldn't even indulge in the night properly. You were too tired to even pay attention. Staring aimlessly, all Awareness of your surroundings dissolved, and your body ready to break- you were going to pass out. At this point, a hilichurl could've kidnapped you and you still wouldn't have noticed.

So, of course, you didn't realize thar Xiao was now sitting beside you, paying more attention to you than the Lantern Rite.

“That's unusual.” He commented, snapping you out of your world, “You would've noticed me long before I even stepped foot beside you. You look like you're ready to drop. What's going on?” Xiao demanded, putting a hand to your chin to keep your head from drooping. He didn't even wait for your answer before releasing a sigh and pulling you onto his lap. “Sleep. You more than deserve it. I could talk you to sleep if you want me to. Would you like that?”
