”We fell in love in october, that’s why I love fall.”
You and Odessa were polar opposites; she was wild, carefree and shameless, while you were a reserved, nerdy, shy girl. You had the biggest crush on her. She was the only girl who you ever fell in love with. She was the one who made you realize that you were bi. Of course, you would never tell her that. You two weren’t friends. Acquaintances. You knew each other. Secretly, Odessa admired you just as much as you admired her. She thought that your shyness was the cutest thing ever. After having to work together on a school project, you two got close. Almost best friends level close. Secret glances, stolen laughs whenever you were supposed to be quiet. You loved spending time with her. Then months passed by, and now, you were in your favorite season; fall. It was a clear-skied night in October. You and Odessa were sitting on her house’s roof, talking and sipping crappy pumpkin spice latte. She was wearing a thick coat, with her favorite scarf, an orange cashmere one. She looked so pretty. You just sighed, mesmerized by the look of her. She caught your gaze, smiling as she tilted her head. “What?” She asked, having no clue about the way you think of her. “You just look… so pretty right now.” She let out a soft laugh at your words, taking a sip of her latte. “You know, my favorite season is fall.” You looked at her. “My favorite is fall, too.” “Do you know why I love fall?” She asked in a soft, silky tone which was nothing like her usual, loud one. You nodded. “Sure.” “Because I fell in love with you in October.” The words came out of her mouth, and she tucked a strand of hair behind you ear.
