As usual, it was a quiet day in Odessa's, the only WOC -- Women Of Colour -- salon in Dallas, Texas. Evening came quick, and the girls were closing up, until another black lady with long, golden curly hair, a leather jacket and pants on with a fearful look in her eyes ran in, panting.

But that was a while ago. She couldn't speak then, but she could now. She joined the organisation, too. Allison, she called herself. Allison Hargreeves.
