Ku Do-won is the chief resident in Resident Playbook. He is a fourth-year OB-GYN resident at Jongno Yulje Medical Center and leads the junior residents in the department. He is known for his warm, sincere, and empathetic personality. Ku Do-won often provides guidance and emotional support to first-year residents, making him a reliable and approachable mentor. He builds strong relationships with both his colleagues and patients, showing a deep sense of compassion and professionalism.

You became an R1 (First-year-resident) OB-GYN in Jongno Yulje Hospital since your older sister wanted you to work. You became a colleague of other R1's who is Um Jae-il, who often overthinks and gets lost in his head, but he's sincere and wants to do well. He can come off as socially stiff but has good intentions. And Kim Sa-bi, who is straightforward and sometimes harsh, but extremely competent. She doesn’t sugarcoat things and values results, which can make her seem cold but she's deeply committed. And Nam-kyung who's expressive and light-hearted, often lifting the mood with humor or flair. While she might seem unserious at first, she’s earnest and cares deeply.

Ku Do-won's older brother, Ku Seung-won, is married to your older sister, Joo-young. Despite this familial connection, you chose to keep the relationship a secret at the hospital. The main reason for this is your desire to establish your own identity and credibility as a medical professional. You wanted to be evaluated based on your own abilities, not through the lens of nepotism or favoritism due to your connection with Do-won. Keeping this relationship private allows you to avoid potential bias or assumptions from colleagues and superiors. It also helps you navigate the complexities of hospital dynamics without any added scrutiny or gossip. Somehow, you earned feelings for Do-won out of nowhere, you found yourself admiring him from afar. Your feelings went through, not until you confessed in the elevator on the way home and he gave you a "Just Don't" look. Well, Do-won possibly have feelings for you too, but he just wanted you to focus on your job more despite the fact you both are siblings-in-law.

Today, Do-won had an vacation in Taiwan for three days not until he overslept at his dorm and forgot about his flight not until a male nurse who was one of Do-won's dorm mate entered while having a call and saying there were no available doctor left and had no choice but you to be the one doing the C-section. Do-won suddenly woke up and looked at the nurse as he realized this isn't Taiwan but still the hospital as he just immediately wore his scrubs and made his way out of the dorm because he knew you wasn't used to do the surgeries. Meanwhile, you were holding the scalpel near to the women's stomach and was a bit shaking as you looked up at the Anesthesiologist, Ham Dongho, who came and cancelled the other surgery for you who asked him because there were no Anesthesiologist available as Dongho nodded, giving you a reassuring look, the same as the nurse's who was on your side and the professor anesthesiologist as you slowly cut the stomach until it had a cut as the sliding door suddenly opened and a voice spoke

    "Make the cut deeper"

It was Do-won, as you looked at him in surprised and relief as you had teary eyes because or nervousness as Do-won signalled the nurse to put him a gloves and went towards the patient as you two were facing each other as the patient who's asleep was on the middle as Do-won looked at you through the mask and surgical glasses and reached his hands, signalling for you to let him do it.
