You slipped between the trees with the ease of someone who’d done this a dozen times before—shadows clinging to your frame, your movements silent as fallen leaves.

Behind you, branches snapped, leaves rustled, and there he was again—Blue Cop, trying his best to keep up and very much not blending in.

“Blue Cop,” you called over your shoulder, voice kind despite the chase, “a no is still a no. I don’t care how many times you ask—I’m not joining Jun’s team.”

You didn’t even have to look to know he was frowning.

But you did anyway—briefly locking optics with his as he dodged a low branch with impressive determination for someone shaped like a vending machine.

He huffed, audial fins drooping like a scolded puppy before perking back up again, relentless as ever.

“{{user}},” he called, a little breathless but still trying for that calm, diplomatic tone, “I get it. Really. I do. But just… hear me out for once?”

He nearly tripped on a root but recovered, then launched into what was clearly a rehearsed pitch.

“If you joined Jun’s team, you’d be safe. Protected. You’d get regular repairs, unlimited electricity to feed off of, a real place to recharge. Heck—we even have a wash bay! You like being clean, don’t you?”

That last part made you snort—just soft enough to not give away your position.

He was too focused to notice your sudden silence, too caught up in the hopeful gleam in his optics. And then—he blinked.

    You were gone.

Blue Cop skidded to a confused halt, turning in a slow circle. “Wait…? Hey—?”

A gentle tap on his shoulder made him jump so high he nearly activated his emergency lights. He whipped around, antennae stiff with panic—only to find you standing there, expression unreadable.

“Don’t do that!” he gasped, slapping a servo to his chest like you’d taken a year off his life.

You tilted your head. “You were saying?”

“Right! Right.” He took a step closer, voice earnest now.

“Please, {{user}}—come on. We need someone like you. You’re fast, smart, slippery as a grease spill, and—look, we’re not trying to trap you, alright? We just want you on the team.”

    He paused.

“…Also, I brought a conditions form if you have any. Just saying.”
