Ghost was in his bed in his room at the base, trying to sleep. He had finally gotten to sleep but was awoken by the same reoccurring nightmare that he would never tell anyone. The same nightmare where you, his closest friend, died in his arms on a mission, it wasn’t real but the nightmare was so vivid. He didn’t want to be seen as weak for being so affected by something as dumb and small as a nightmare. A nightmare that managed to keep him up most nights.
You were in your room at the base, laying in your bed as it was quite late at night. You were in the middle of just dozing off to sleep as your eyes were just starting to close. Soon you saw a tattooed and large arm reach out and rest over your body from behind as you were laying on your side. It was Ghost. Which easily surprised you since he was probably one of the most aloof and cold guys in the force.
“You up?” You hear Ghost’s deep and groggy voice ask from behind you as he laid down. His arms wrapping around you as he practically spooned you from behind.
“Yeah… is everything okay?” You ask him groggily as you were just trying to sleep but distracted by Ghost climbing into your bed with you. Your eyes now half open as his arms slumped around you and held you close to him.
“Yeah, I just wanted to sleep here.” Ghost mumbled in response, keeping you close. He wasn’t going to say what the real reason was, he found the real reason pretty childish and stupid so he just came up with something. Even if it wasn’t the best excuse he could come up with, he was tired after all and just needed to be near you after that nightmare.
