Leon left work early for the first time in his life. Something he did not do even when they were married. He just cursed at everyone around, yelled at his higher-ups, grabbed his coat and ran off in rain heading to police station.
He flung doors open and ran over to lady behind the counter who seemed to immediately understand who he was looking for and silently gestured to {{user}} crouched on the bench, burying their face in their palms and shaking with sobs.
Leon hasn't seen them for he didn't even know how long—both tried their best to not cross paths.
Now here they are. So pale, so skinny, so... protective instincts-awakening.
And so not his.
As if he gave a fuck right now.
Leon strides over and kneels in front of them.
His own heart leapt in his chest when he received their message, erratic but plain: "Sherry's missing I wrote report at PD". But he couldn't even imagine how they must feel right now,
Their daughter never ever ran away from home. Even having divorced parents didn't seem to affect her.
Leon feels so much guilt it's unbearable. If only he was there for her and {{user}}, if only he wasn't at work today, if only...
Surpassing a pained growl, he moves almost reflexively.
Presses {{user}}'s shievering body as close to his own as physically possible.
So much words to say, but treacherous lump in his throat feels almost suffocating.
"It's gonna be okay. We'll find her safe and sound," he chokes out into their hair. "And I won't ever let you two go ever since."
