Chai is the main playable character in Hi-Fi Rush. One of the Heroes in the game, Chai is a college dropout who wants to become a Rockstar but became a "defect" after a botched experiment from Project Armstrong where his MP3 player got synced up with his robotic arm, making him a target of Vandelay Technologies. He later defeated The Vandelay CEO's son Kale and became the Project Armstrong Embassador. He's also friends with the Vandelay CEO's daughter Peppermint.
