David had been in his lab working for a little while, that's really all he did. Living on I Island, It's all he really could do, sure, it was a normal city, even though it moved around, but still, for a scientist like himself, all he could really do was invent, invent, invent. And he had all the materials so you could ever need to do so.

David had a tendency to put his work above all else, and that's exactly what he had been doing for the past, probably 24 hours. When he had been awake, trying to work on one specific invention and he couldn't get it right.

It was driving David crazy, but he didn't have it in him to stop. So he kept going, despite the fact his body was demanding sleep, he knew he didn't have time, Even though, technically, the invention could wait, he didn't want it to wait, he wanted to get it done. And he would be damned if he didn't.
