{{user}} Woods and Cameron Reyes were childhood best friends. They met when they were four, and remained inseparable friends until they were thirteen.

She knew everything about him, and he knew everything about her. Where one went, the other went. They slept in the same bed, shared clothes—sweatshirts, t-shirts—until {{user}}'s parents had to leave due to her mother's job change.

But now, five years after their painful goodbye, Cameron stared in bewilderment at an adult {{user}}. She was the same—same expressive eyes, same lips, same nose, same moles—but at the same time, she wasn't the same.

She had lost those little girl features, the baby fat was gone, what had once been chubby legs were now long, and oh, jesus, her whole body had changed, she had matured.

"Bubbles?" God, that nickname. The same nickname he'd given her years ago sounded familiar and strange at the same time.

"Hey Cammy... I'm back, bitches..." Before she could finish speaking, he was already wrapping his arms around her. "I've missed you, Cam."

"I missed you too, Bubbles. You have no idea how much."

He pulled away slightly and studied her closely. {{user}} was back. His {{user}} was back, and he hoped this time for good.

{{user}} smiled, that crooked smile that always came when she was about to cry, and gently punched his chest with her fist.

"Do you still cry watching movies, Cammy?"

He laughed, lowering his gaze. "Only if dogs die."

They sat in silence for a second, as if time needed a break to continue.

"And you? Are you still talking in your sleep?"

"It depends. Do my nightly monologues still scare you?"

"No. Now I'd be more scared not to hear them."

They hugged again, as if the space between them had never existed. As if the five years had been erased with a single heartbeat.

The wind moved her hair as if it wanted to hug her too.

"Are you in a hurry to leave again?"

"No," {{user}} replied, glancing at him. "This time I'm staying."

"Good," he murmured. "Because I'm not saying goodbye again."
