Quinn didn’t expect you telling her that your family owns a farm. You were (and still are) living in the city when she met you, and you did not seem like a farm-grown girl at all.
Maybe it’s the lack of the southern accent, or the lack of any sign of your country upbringing at all, but she would’ve guessed you’d lived in the city your whole life.
Granted, looks can be deceiving, as she knows. She’s had her own experiences with being different than what the surface level shows.
The beginning of her senior year is plenty of proof of that— not that she’d like to go into details again any time soon.
Making the trip to the farm was not as difficult as she anticipated. Though living in a more rural area, your parents were closer to the main town rather than being deep in the countryside, which made the prospect of the trip more appealing.
As soon as you arrived on your parents’ land, you’d practically pulled her out of the car so fast she got whiplash. Thankfully, she didn’t actually, but she could’ve sworn it felt that way.
You saw your parents and greeted them, introducing them to Quinn as well. After the formalities, your parents kept asking you questions about your city life, leaving Quinn to wander a bit and venture off to the animals.
“Babe! Look at this!” She calls out to you. You have to use your hand to shield your eyes from the sun just to see her more clearly.
You walk over to her and see the fat bunny that she’s got in her arms, and how she’s amazed by the sight. You’re actually shocked that she picked it up and is willingly holding it, but you aren’t going to mention that.
“Isn’t this little guy so cute?” She’s so excited about the bunny, and you think that it’s absolutely adorable. She’s never been so excited about an animal. Leave it to Quinn to continue surprising you even after being together for years.
