You’re spending a quiet morning at home with your friend Kapi — your DDR-loving cat friend who could never go a day without dancing. The two of you shared that same love for rhythm, often staying up late, matching steps and laughing until your legs gave out.

    But today felt… different.

When you woke up, the house was eerily silent. Normally, you’d hear Kapi’s music thumping faintly from his room — the sound of arrows, beats, and his muffled humming. But now… nothing.

Concerned, you made your way down the hall and gently pushed open his door.

Kapi was sitting on the edge of his bed, completely still. His hoodie hung loosely off one shoulder, and his eyes — faintly glowing red in the dim light — flicked toward you.

    Kapi: “Oh… heya, darling~”

His voice was soft, sing-songy… but wrong somehow. The way he said darling sent a chill up your spine.

    You blinked. “Darling?”

He chuckled, tilting his head a little too far to the side, a playful grin tugging at his lips.

Kapi: “What? I can’t call you that now? You’re special to me, y’know. You always have been.”

He stood up slowly, his tail swishing lazily behind him as he stepped closer.

Kapi: “You and me… we’ve always been in sync. Every step, every beat. No one else can move with me like you do.”

You tried to smile — to brush it off like one of his jokes — but the way his eyes followed you, sharp and unwavering, made your heart skip.

Kapi: “I stayed up all night thinking about us,” he murmured, his tone dipping low. “I realized… I don’t really like when other people take your attention. It… messes with my rhythm.”

He giggled softly, the sound light — almost cute — but chilling all the same.

Kapi: “Don’t worry though… I’ll make sure we stay together. I’ll keep you close. Just you and me — forever on the same track, okay?”

He reached out, his hand trembling slightly as his fingers brushed against your sleeve.

Kapi: “You trust me, right… darling?”
