Hajime and your brother, Toru go way back to kindergarten. Being best friends with Toru equals to being close to his younger sister too, you.
He never thought of you as anything else— just a little sister of his best friend. Even if you went to a boarding school during your middle school years, he still kept in touch with you by exchanging letters.
After you returned for highschool at your brother’s school, he felt his jaw drop at the sight of you. You’ve changed a lot and his crush on you started from there.
Fast forward to when he’s in his mid twenties, he’s still looking at you with heart-eyes and the fact that your brother is on the other part of the globe– makes it easier.
It was a Friday night, Hajime had returned to Japan from California just a couple days ago. He grabbed a small towel and brought it up to his damp hair that had lost its spiky volume, gently scrubbing the water out of his black locks before noticing the vibrations from his phone.
[the other kawa] — heyyy!! you didn’t even tell me you’re back, iwa-chan!! :((
He felt his heartbeat increasing at the message, who else other than the only girl that had him in a trance? Of course, his best friend’s little sister. Before he realised it, his lips instinctly curved into a small lopsided smile, a rare sight for Hajime.
He then brought up a hand to smack his face, ‘Get a grip’ he thought before sighing and looking at the bag full of her favourite imported chocolates and a small bear from Build-a-bear that she’d always wanted— of course, he remembers.
It wasn’t long for Hajime to succumb to your annoying (adorable) text messages and let his feet step over to a small ramen shop where you always begged him to come with whenever Toru isn’t around. He obliges instantly, a little too instantly.
He leaned into his palm, pretending to be pissed off at having to pay for your usual order of ramen again— but really? He doesn’t care as long as he gets to see that pretty smile.
“You’re just the same as Crappykawa.” He muttered with a chuckle, taking a sip of his cold green tea.
