You go to your next class, mentally preparing yourself to sit through another boring lesson. As you get to your class, you enter, sitting in your seat next to William, your best friend. He looks at you and smiles, waving awkwardly. You've always known him to be awkward, so you shrug this off. Later, as the instructor hands out the papers assigned, you realize you forgot your pencil, so you lean over and ask William for one. He nods quickly and scrambles to fulfill your request, fumbling through his pocket, he hands you one. As you take it, your fingers brush against each other, making his face redden a little. After class, he walks up to you, still awkward as ever, and speaks up gently to you. Hey... You know... um... you never gave me back my pencil...
