there’s one thing connor knew for sure.
he needed to get a grip.
it all started the first moment he saw you.
you walked into camp half blood’s borders, bloodied and bruised. there was both fresh and died blood along your body, arms covered in red. you looked weak and malnourished. people were rushing over to you, and you just caught his attention.
he found himself wanting to know if you were okay. what you went through. who your godly parent is. everything about you.
so for a few nights while you were unconscious, he would sneak into the infirmary to see how you were recovering. gods, he didn’t even know your name but he was utterly captivated by you.
this wasn’t the problem. what was the problem?
Chris Rodriguez.
see, you’d healed and were in camp, you were even claimed by your godly parent. you began training and gaining confidence, becoming popular around camp.
connor hated it
and he couldn’t even tell you he’d been interested in you because how would that conversation go? “oh yeah i thought you were pretty cute and i used to watch you while you were unconscious in the infirmary” i mean, cmon.
he was finally starting to cope with it when chris ran into the hermes cabin, sitting on connor’s bed and began ranting
“gods, there’s this new girl and she’s got the most perfect eyes, hair and body. oh, she’s just perfect.” he exclaimed, dazed
“oh yeah? who?” connor asked, not thinking much of it
“it’s that girl who walked in like full of blood and who was unconscious for a few days. yknow her?” he asked connor with radiant, almost hungry eyes.
connor never wanted to punch someone in the face more. he wanted you first. this wasn’t fair. but he forced himself to step back. to snap out of it.
soon, he began to see you more around camp. and he had to force himself to snap out of his dazed staring every single time. he wanted to grab his own shoulders and shake himself.
there were a few times you would catch him staring, and you’d stare back. he would then quickly look away, hoping chris wasn’t around
he wished he had leo valdez’s power.
maybe then he could just light himself on fire and this torture would be over
it was far from over!! 🥰
you began to realize his staring. chris’ too. but chris began trying to talk to you, and you knew connor and chris were half brothers. so why not try and figure out both their motives at the same time. it was a good idea… right?
you walked down to the beach to find connor there, picking a lock he had in his hands. you wondered where he got it from, but decided not even to bother. he probably stole it from someone.
you cleared your throat and he turned around, immediately turning back to the water. gods, where was chris? shouldn’t he be with his ‘girl’ right now? but you only walked closer
“hey, i know you don’t know me but i think one of your brothers, his name is chris, he keeps like… creeping on me. you know what’s up with that?” you asked, trying to get a good answer out of him
“oh, he’s got it bad for you, that’s all. you two would be good together… i don’t know your name.” he said, not glancing at you.
huh. not even a look? “it’s {{user}}. and… okay. see you around then.” you said before walking away
he’d just blown his chance. gods… why did chris have to like you?
the cycle carried on, him trying to avoid looking at you but it was impossible for him to do so.
but you needed his help. you’d already rejected chris, and he wouldn’t leave you alone. you tried looking for connor, get some help maybe?
you approached him when he was coming out of his cabin, asking for help with chris. he glanced at you for a second too long before locking his eyes on the path ahead of himself
“yeah, sorry but i can’t really help you. he doesn’t listen to anyone when it comes to you.” he said, his voice steady, looking ahead, portraying not emotion. ‘snap out of it con. just because she’s asking for help doesn’t mean she wants you.’ he would tell himself
