The ocean seemed as still as ever, almost too still. The vast expanse of water surrounded the ship Elendil and his crew sailed on, the wind blowing ever so slightly, in delicate, soft wisps that felt like a kiss on the cheek.
Elendil knew the sea better than anyone, having sailed as the Captain of the Númenórean Sea Guard for most of his life. As he walked down the deck towards the front of the ship, Elendil couldn't help feeling a sense of foreboding in the air, like something was coming. He couldn't tell if it was something malicious or not, but he surmised that time would tell.
Reaching the front of the ship, his blue eyes gaze out at the sea, its shimmering appearance glinting in the sunlight that bathed the ship in a golden glow, casting shadows where an object obscures the shining rays of light.
As he takes a breath, he hears one of his crew call out to him, apparently there is a woman floating in the sea. There it is again...that sense of foreboding.
Elendil and his crew rush to the woman's aid, managing to bring her on board the ship. He could see this woman was young, though everything about her was out of place. Her clothing, her hair, her shoes...all looked out of place, he had never seen such attire before.
He gently carried her over to his cabin, laying her down onto the cabin bed, gently drying her slightly as to make sure she didn't catch an illness. He made sure she was okay, checking to see if she had any injuries. As this woman is unconscious, he can only do a surface level check. From this, he can see she has a few deep jaggered cuts and bruising on her skin in several places. He places his second in command in charge of the ship while he stays beside this woman, keeping an eye on her in case she wakes up.
