It was another press day, among many others. You and the rest of the cast were promoting the last and final season of Outer Banks, which meant you’d been invited to countless interviews and shows.
Today, you guys were invited onto Hot Ones, an interview show, but since you were there as a group, it wasn’t the usual type of interview where you ate a hot wing before every question.
Instead, you were doing something called ‘Wing Pong.’ The setup was simple: two teams faced off across a table set up like traditional beer pong, with cups arranged in triangles. Underneath or inside each cup was a custom-written, revealing question and a mystery wing featuring heat levels ranging from mild to merciless.
You were paired with Madison, while on the opposite team were Chase, JD, and Drew. The interview started off harmless. Drew landed the first shot, meaning Madison had to eat a wing or answer a question.
A couple of points later, it was your turn. Madison picked up the cup and read out your question.
“Over the years, the cast has grown close like a family, and you’ve gotten to know each other. Rank everyone in this room from least to most reliable.”
Everyone chuckled, looking at you expectantly.
“You gonna answer?” Chase asked.
“Those are the rules. Okay then, least reliable…” you started, looking at each cast member. Your gaze stopped on Drew.
Drew had been sneaking glances at you the whole time, and when he caught your look, he laughed and pointed at himself.
“Me? Come on, {{user}}.”
“I haven’t said anything,” you replied, smiling.
“Your eyes said enough,” he said with a wink.
You chuckled, thinking about your answer, but quickly came to the conclusion that you probably weren’t going to answer it without taking way too long.
“Whatever, I’m just gonna eat,” you said, reaching for the wing inside the cup.
“Atta girl!” JD said, laughing along with Chase.
Drew chuckled too, but his attention remained on you as he watched your reaction to the spice intensely. You took a bite. Almost immediately, your face twisted. You looked up and met his eyes, swallowing hard.
“Oh god, that’s just nasty,” you said, immediately reaching for the glass of milk sitting nearby.
Everyone laughed at your reaction, but Drew kept watching you.
As you took another sip of milk, his eyes briefly dropped to your lips before he instinctively wet his own.
