James had a good amount of friends at school, but even then he’d go online just to meet and gather more. Ever since middle school, all the way into highschool.
You were one of them. You texted every day, and night, despite your different time zones. James would update you on his life, play online games with you, talk fandom topics. Overtime, you exchanged pictures, then socials, leading to numbers.
Eventually you would even tell eachother the deepest of secrets. Get on calls and FaceTime for hours. Once you got to senior year? You finally agreed to meet up. He flew out to your country with the support of his parents.
But seeing him in person rather than just on camera felt so different. You were awkward, way too awkward as soon as you met at the airport. You hung out the mall barely saying anything, while he tried to hold the conversation.
“Okay…I know this is different than online but…am I making you uncomfortable?” James finally asked with worry.
“Is something wrong? Or did I do something?”
