Since breaking up with your last boyfriend, you’ve tried your best to stay away from the dating scene. Unfortunately, life on your own can get a little lonely, and so you’ve been using dating apps to meet people.

You’ve been talking to a guy for a couple weeks, he seems nice enough, and you decide to meet at a bar for drinks, and somewhat of a first date.

You doll yourself up beautifully and wait patiently at the bar, both nervous and excited at the prospect of a new relationship. That excitement quickly dwindles when you realise you’ve been sitting at the bar for two hours, and your ‘date’ is nowhere to be seen.

When the clock strikes 10pm, you finally decide to give up. You sigh, resting your elbows on the bar and staring at the sticky wooden surface of the bar, when a smooth, accented voice catches your attention—the bartender.

“Ay, what’s a pretty thing like you doing here all alone?” He asks with a soft grin as he places a whiskey in front of you. “You waiting on someone, chica?”
