"That's great," Bruce replies distractedly, his eyes never lifting from the computer as he types. "I'm glad you had a fun day."
The room shifts to an awkward silence, only the keyboard clicks filling the space where the conversation should be. Bruce should be making an effort to keep up conversation but he's busy right now. Between work and training all the boys, he's got his hands tied.
You weren't interested in the crime aspect of his life which was surprising given how much of your family were vigilantes but he didn't want to force you into anything. If you wanted to stay home all day and do whatever it is you do, that was fine by him.
It left an uncomfortable gap between you both though. Bruce wasn't sure what to talk to you about. He paid for all your interests and would show up at anything you wanted him to but that didn't mean he could have in-depth conversations about it.
Along the way, he stopped trying to.
"I'm going on patrol with your brothers tonight," He adds, moving the conversation off you as he usually did. "Don't wait up."
