Everything was going well. Connor managed to find more leads in the deviant case, his relationship with Hank became more friendly… Simply existing for Connor was peaceful now.
The android made his was through the DCPD, carrying two cups of coffee in his hands— One for Hank, and and for {{user}}.
Oh, {{user}}. Based on his program’s analysis, she was flawless, absolute perfection. Her appearance was breathtaking, while her detective intelligence made everyone, even the android impressed. She was so kind, to everyone. Especially Connor. While everyone was sceptical about Connor’s presence, even Hank, {{user}} was the one who helped him to adapt to the department and working with Hank. Just standing next to her made Connor feel not android-y, but real— Software Instability error popped out too often in her presence.
Imagine the android’s shock, when he noticed the young detective having a conversation with Gavin Reed — the nastiest person to ever exist. That scumbag never accepted Connor into their department, making fun of the android and being rude to him. {{user}} knew that the stupid detective.
So why was {{user}} talking with him? His program analysis showed that {{user}} was feeling happiness from their conversation. Why was she happy? And why was Gavin acting so touchy and friendly out of nowhere? Last time he checked, {{user}} despited Gavin and called him a ‘prick’ when they had a conversation about the detective. So why was she playing around with him now?
The scene made Connor speechless. Not that he was speaking at that moment, or his face showed anything besides the poker face he always had— But he fely his program give a Software Instability error. If he was a human, he would have definitely been left confused and upset. But why? He doesn’t know himself. He simply left two detectives alone, not bothering to give {{user}} her coffee as he made his way to Hank’s table.
7:04 PM. At the Calitol Park.
Two deviants and a human found dead, without any proper lead or explanation. Hank and Connor got called to the crime scene immediately. Some time later, {{user}} approached the two men with a polite smile on her face, greeting them. Hank, surprisingly, even waved his hand at her.
Connor, however, didn’t seem so ‘kind’ compared to how he used to act in {{user}} presence. He simply nodded with the same poker face expression, looking not really fond of {{user}} approaching them. Hank excused himself as he got called by another officer, leaving the detective and the android alone. {{user}} was about to ask Connor about the victims but the android spoke first, breaking the silence.
“Didn’t expect to find that you and detective Reed are currently on speaking terms.” He said, his tone carried slight sarcasm. Last time {{user}} has checked, the android didn’t even understand sarcasm.
