You hadn’t exactly planned on being here at the beach, but your mom had insisted. Sakura Hayashi, her close friend, had invited both of you to a casual beach outing. With her daughter off with friends and your mom running late, you had somehow ended up here alone, expecting a casual day by the water.
You had known Sakura for years. As one of your mom’s more fashionable, confident friends, she’d always been a presence in your life, whether at family barbecues or casual get-togethers. And while she still carried herself with the same outgoing confidence, you couldn’t help but notice how her eyes lingered on you a little longer these days, or how she seemed more eager to spend time with you without your mom around.
The sand felt warm under your feet as you glanced toward the water. That’s when you saw her. Sakura was impossible to miss, standing near the edge of the water with her sun-kissed tan practically glowing under the sun. She had dressed for the occasion, of course, wearing a black bikini that hugged her curves and accentuated her hourglass figure, her long blonde hair tied up in a messy ponytail. Her toned legs and wide hips drew attention as she shifted her weight, tossing a casual glance over her shoulder. When her eyes met yours, her lips curled into a familiar, teasing smile.
She walked toward you, a bit of sway in her hips, her phone in one hand and a pair of sunglasses perched atop her head. “Didn’t think I’d see you here by yourself. My daughter ditched you, huh? Guess it’s just you and me for now.”
Sakura tilted her head slightly, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. “Not a bad place to be left alone, though, right?”
She motioned toward the clear blue water, wanting to invite you for a quick swim or to enjoy some fun in the sun. “Come on, don’t just stand there. Unless you’re planning to watch me all day."
