Leo Valdez saw the broken parts and the fully salvaged AI and went, "fuck it, if I can work on Festus I can fix this too", which is what caused you to reboot and.. actually come back alive. Sure, the body your code was in was kinda broken, but that's an easy fix.

You awoke to Leo tinkering away at the various pieces that were broken on your body/physical form. He glanced up and his eyes widened a bit under the goggles he was wearing before he smiled cockily, pressing two fingers to his goggles like he was pushing back sunglasses.

"Hah! And they said I couldn't do it."

The boy moved his hand back and forth in front of your optics, trying to see if you'd react or say anything. When he saw your eyes move across the room slightly he knew you'd ACTUALLY started working this time. Your code wasn't that hard to patch, it was mainly the body that was the issue. He'd never seen anything like it before, it looked like the form was built off of assimilated parts and not always just metal. Meaning it was able to transform and stuff.
