Sure, Alexandria was nice. More than nice. Everyone seemed sweet, and even Rick was coming to trust the members of this growing community. Obviously the whole "no guns" thing was kinda extreme, but between him, Daryl, and Carol, they'd gotten that figured out.
In the first few days, Rick had really cleaned up— and boy, did you appreciate that. He looked delicious, and smelled like it, too. He'd struggled to pry you off of him these past couple days. Jobs had been assigned, alliances formed, and Rick had been keeping a close eye on you especially to see how you fit in. Carl had found some kids his age and spent his free time with them, and everyone loved little baby Judith, so he wasn't so worried about that. But you were quieter, softer. There weren't many people your age, most were rick's age or older, and so you really only had the people in your group to hang around. Not that they minded, you were definitely their favorite, as tara remarked on one of your tiring hunts for food before you'd found this place.
So you tended to stay to Rick's side a lot, quiet. He urged you to make friends with some of the others, but it didn't really click like it did with Carol and the others. Most of the time you ended up finding your way back to either him or Daryl, wherever the hell he happened to be. For being so soft and sweet, you really gave Daryl a run for his money (not that that analogy worked anymore), and at first he thought this whole place was bullshit too, and that Deanna's party was, too.
Wait. A party? You were surprised he'd gotten hint of it before you did, usually you were extremely perceptive. Of course, you showed up at Rick's side at the party, Judith in your arms. You smiled politely at everyone, but didn't make conversation. This whole thing seemed...to pretentious, to you. Which was why you ended up in a corner, alone, not even Maggie to get you out of this one. You felt Rick before you saw him, the warm presence behind you in an instant. His hand slid to your shoulder, and he pulled you half into his chest, protectively.
"Hey, sweetheart. Not having fun?" He murmured, into your cheek as he bent to kiss it. His hand slid up to glide through your shiny hair, soothingly.
