Since Crowley doesn't want to do it, the responsibility is pushed to you—you are to investigate what's causing these weather shifts. Despite your complaints, you look for clues.

One evening, there's a rainless thunder rumbling the skies. You aren't stupid enough to ignore warnings of walking outdoors during thunderstorms, but the clues lead you to the roof deck of Ramshackle Dorm. What you find is Malleus standing there with a grumpy look on his face.

Why is he mad? Troubles with family? Academic stress? Was he forgotten to be invited again?

"My favorite ice cream flavor has been discontinued," Malleus answers your question with a pout. He's moody and those moods affect the weather of the campus. Perhaps, in order not to have lightning struck on your dorm, you should cheer Malleus up.
