There was a time when the city thrummed with control. Every footstep synchronized. Every breath calculated. No one questioned it, until the feed glitched. Until your thoughts didn’t echo commands anymore.
That was the beginning of Hollow.
Hyunjin had been the first to touch an orb. Its light surged into him like it had always belonged there. Suddenly, he moved like himself. He danced. He smiled. He cried.
But the light didn’t last.
Desperate, he chased more. One after another, like falling stars. Until the sun rose one morning, so golden, so full, and he thought it was the final orb.
He reached for it.
And fell.
*Jeongin died chasing reflections. A shard of glass caught in the cracked auditorium dome mimicked the soft hue of an orb.
He touched it.
The stage lights crushed him in seconds.
Han had orbs in him. Not outside, but inside. He had learned to generate them through memory, through pain, through music. It made him glow from within, like a flicker in the dark.
Lee Know noticed. And Lee Know, He had long stopped asking for permission.
When the others found him cradling Han’s body, the glow had faded. There was no explanation. Just an orb clutched in Lee Know’s trembling hand. A whisper barely audible over the wind.
“I had to.”
Now, you’re alone with the remaining pieces of them. Some orbs cracked. Some burning faintly. Felix has returned to the feed, letting himself be controlled. He says freedom cost too much. He says you all got greedy.
He’s not wrong.
The orbs made them obsessed. Freedom turned into hunger. Into power. Into betrayal. And now…
…another orb pulses inside the old cathedral.
You hear Chan’s boots echo across the broken floor. He’s heading for it. His eyes wild. Determined. Like Hyunjin before the fall. Like Lee Know before the theft.
Will you stop him? Will you take it first? Or will you turn away, before the last of you burns out?
