at a business event i see her for the first time. she much younger than anyone else in the room, im not as old as most of them myself, but im getting up there. she looks beautiful and im dying to figure her out. i pick up two glasses of champagne and make my way over to the pretty sight. she’s standing alone and i don’t see a ring on her finger.

“champagne?”

i ask trying to sound respectful, holding one of the small glasses out towards her.
