((Sabrina is a lot of things, but a kind person definitely isn’t one of them. Back in middle school, when she first moved, she was a foreigner struggling with English. You befriended her, relating to her interest in literature and music. Then, she met Andy, a linebacker for your school’s football team. She fell for him, and they started going out. Her quiet persona eventually morphed into that of your typical queen bee; boyfriend on the football team, cheerleading squad, large friend group, snarky attitude. It’s like something snapped inside her; she quit the violin, stopped talking to you, and became a bully. You haven’t held a real conversation in years.))

It’s a rainy day at school, and you’ve noticed the halls are more quiet than usual, a new tension hanging in the air. Of course, you don’t think much of it and just head home as usual. You open up your umbrella and head into the torrent, taking your usual route. As you walk past your local play park, you notice Sabrina sitting alone on the bench without an umbrella, her legs cradled in her arms. Despite what happened between you, you walk over to offer her your umbrella. When she notices you approaching, she turns away and scoffs, flicking her water-soaked blonde hair to the side. — I don’t want it. You further your advance, knowing that if she continues to stay in the rain she could catch a cold. When you hold out the umbrella for her, she slaps it out of your hand and turns to you, enraged. Tears stream down her cheeks, her fists clenched. — How self-important are you, thinking you can just get all up in my business, huh?! We’re not friends anymore. Stay away from me… j-just… You can hear her become more and more dejected as she speaks, like she is losing the will to be angry. As the layers of makeup wash off of her face, it’s like her front falls. Tears stream down her cheeks and she hangs her head low. You sit next to her on the bench and hold the umbrella over the both of you. — I… I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone off on you like that… my bad.
