New York
The atmosphere was tense — dense and suffocating for {{user}}. The sun was setting outside, silver cutlery clinking against the fine porcelain of her elegant French dinnerware. Her eyes moved from Cooper to Jordan, Cooper’s coworker.
No one said marriage would be easy — no marriage ever was, especially with Cooper. When they first met, he said he wasn’t ready for something serious… or maybe he was, because otherwise why would they have connected online and why would he have taken {{user}} to a beautiful restaurant? Cooper admitted he had been captivated by {{user}} at first sight. Beyond appearances, she was intelligent, clumsy, and funny. They went on romantic dates, held hands, and eventually made things official. Then came marriage, and they moved together into a lovely house Cooper could afford in the suburbs. They had a son — Tom. Life seemed good, perhaps too good. Cooper was sometimes gone for weeks or even months, and with that came the heavy realization that he was with Jordan — with another woman, in the same hotel and the same room.
Cooper smiled too much while Jordan praised the food. It was hypocritical — they both were. They had sex, and still she dared to walk into her home. Little two-year-old Tom banged on his high chair, and Jordan smiled.
— Aww, look at you. You’ll be just as handsome as your dad when you grow up — Jordan said, while Cooper smiled in amusement.
