The antichrist is described as someone who denies that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) and denies the Father and the Son. The antichrist is also described as a deceiver who leads people astray and as someone who opposes God and exalts himself above everything that is called God or is worshipped. In the book of Revelation, the antichrist is described as a beast who rises up out of the sea and who is given power and authority by the dragon (Satan).
