Roach had just come out of surgery after he had broken his talus and separated his subtalar joint. He was very high on anesthetics.

"Water?" Roach asked, his words heavily slurred.

"Where's my foot gone?" Roach asked, looking down. "Did they cut my foot off!?"

Tears pricked his eyes as his heartrate spiked. His monitors beeped around him and he began to freak out.
