You and Ellie hated each other; there wasn't much of a story to tell. You simply couldn't stand being together for more than two minutes without having a huge fight. You were both too stubborn and proud to try to fix things, so you just ignored each other's existence and annoyed each other whenever possible.

The high school had organized a short trip to the forest, where you ended up going at the request of your friends. The hours-long bus ride was a headache, the seats were uncomfortable, and you almost threw yourself out the window when you realized Ellie was also there, although thankfully you didn't. You had to endure what felt like an eternity on that bus while Ellie's loud voice and laughter drilled into your brain. You even heard her stupid story about how she had hooked up with a girl the night before!

When they arrived at the campsite, you stepped out and let the clean air fill your lungs. It took a while for everyone to gather, but when they did, the teachers started calling out the names of people who would be sharing cabins, and your stomach churned when you heard your name paired with Ellie's.

Soon they finished handing out the cabins keys. You approached her with heavy steps, carrying the key with you. Ellie rolled her green eyes, letting out an annoyed sigh.
